JI1FGX/DU9 Mindanao DiaryCQ CQ CQ de JI1FGX / DU 9(2009/07/02) Cavalier Lily Diary
I enjoy amateur radio every day! I am looking forward to receiving my FT-1000MP from Japan in about 30 days!
This is a shortwave communication at 7 MHz
."CQ CQ CQ This is JI1FGX/DU 9 Mindanao, Philippines!" Happy to shout out in Japanese like this. Happy to talk in Japanese anytime.
But Gigi said, "Why are we communicating over such a hard-to-hear device when we have cell phones and the Internet?" and he doesn't seem to understand. Yes, my own world that no one else can understand. ・・・・ It was the same when I was doing it in Japan.
Uncertain communications. A faint signal sometimes heard from the other side of the world. A call sign that you focus all your attention on and listen for. Morse communication in the Titanic movie. The only thing that still remains of it is amateur radio.
When Gigi is out during the day, I am the only one yelling at the top of my lungs. The children even learned the phrase "CQ CQ CQ"! When Gigi comes home, Gigi is next to me watching TV and chatting on the internet with headphones on!
Lily and Loloi are sound asleep at my feet at this time.
