Mindanao Island Diary: Rice harvesting soon (2009/04/15)
I apologize for the continued absence of Lily's photo, even though this is Lily's diary. Lily is doing very well, but the heat has been intense every day, about 35 degrees in Japan, and I'm feeling a little summer heat exhaustion! Even so, Lily accompanies me every day when I go shopping for materials, and her tail is wagging wildly when she is called "cute" at stores and other places.
Well, the harvest of our rice field, which we purchased in December, is set for April 17! It's been about 4 months since we planted rice in January, and this will be the first rice harvest of the year! It is the best place in the Philippines for rice cultivation because of its warm temperatures, abundant water, and almost no typhoon damage.
