50MHz 5EL Yagi Antenna Repair (August 09, 2024)
Antenna broken by lightning strike in January 2016.
GP on 2m from top, 29MHz repeater 2-ele yagi, UHF yagi for repeater link, 50MHz 5-ele yagi
GP and 29MHz repeater antennas were blown away by lightning!

JN6RZM Yamamoto requested that we bring back 50MHz, so we decided to take down the broken antenna!
Elements are broken due to wind and bird damage.
Antenna removal in progress
No one was scared to go up to the top, but my wife's sister Jian's husband, Ronel, did!
I asked for 1,000 pesos (about $2,700) for one ascent.
It's a good part time job since the minimum wage for a day in Osamis is 500 pesos.
The gentle Japanese also purchased a safety belt from Shopee!
Unloaded 50MHz 5-element yagi antenna
The pipe has broken off and is now 3-element, and half of the feeder is also broken off.
Glass & aluminum material store in town
The HF yagi antenna I built before was also purchased here in aluminum pipe
240 pesos (about 650 yen) for two 6-meter aluminum pipes
Also purchased an element holder for TV antenna at my usual electronic parts store (UNITRUS)
Elements that are broken and missing have been recalculated in MMANA to determine their length.
Repair will be completed in about 3 days.
The weather is bad and we are waiting for the weather to improve. Perhaps we can install on Saturday, September 28.
